A Guide To De-Stress Your Life

By Ella Saddler

Ironically, your busiest times are the periods where it’s most important to find time for yourself, unwind, center, and ground. This guide is here to help you unwind during the holiday season and help you create a good foundation to begin reflections for the new year.

Bath Time

One of our favorite ways to unwind is with a nice hot bath. But a bath should be much more than a tub filled with some hot water. It’s about engaging in any mindful meditative exercise such as the act of setting your bath scene, reading a book, listening to a podcast, etc. Anything to help you fully focus on the now.

Setting the scene for your bath:

  1. Draw your bath with bath salts, bubbles, epsom salts, oils, whatever you prefer.

  2. Light candles or incense to further indulge your senses and set the ambiance

  3. Turn on music, or your preferred podcast.

Detox Those Pits!

Maybe this has been on your to-do list for a while or maybe you’ve never heard of it. But in the spirit of doing things to take care of ourselves, let’s detox our armpits. Detoxing your armpits can help with excessive sweat and help to make your natural deo event more effective. This is also a great practice if you are switching from a toxic to non-toxic deodorant. Charcoal helps pull toxins out of our bodies so we recommend combining charcoal soap with a mask to deep detox.

How to do a face mask:

Is it just us or does doing a facemask help you feel like your life is put together? We love face masks that can cater to everyone’s needs. A mask in powder form can be mixed with various liquids to give you the glow you need.

  1. For congested skin: Mix your clay powder mask with milk until the consistency is creamy and spreadable. The lactic acid in milk works as a chemical exfoliant to slough away dead skin cells and refresh your complexion.

  2. For dry skin: Mix your clay powder mask with honey until the consistency is smooth. Honey has antibacterial, anti-microbial, and moisturizing properties.

  3. For acne prone skin: Mix apple cider vinegar with your clay mask

Self Reflection Session

We find that working a journaling session into our morning or evening routines is a great way to get any thoughts, goals, anxieties, fears, wins, etc out of your head and on paper, leaving you with a sense of clarity and peace of mind. Try jotting down your thoughts for a few days and see the effects.

Here are a few prompts to get you started:

  1. Today I am grateful for...

  2. What would make/did make today great?

  3. What matters most to you right now?
