Warmer weather is officially here and whether a beach, lake or pool is calling your name, dressing the part (a.k.a. grabbing your favorite swimsuit) is key. 

Luckily, there are more than a few eco-friendly swimwear companies out there, and their cute suits will have you looking and feeling your best season after season. Check out our favorites below — and don’t forget your clean & sustainable SPF!

VITAMIN A

Innovative fabrics that help the planet

Vitamin A is leading the way in the swimwear space with the creation of fabrics like EcoLux™, a superfine matte jersey, as well as the stretch-ribbed EcoRib® and EcoTex, a scrunchie-like fabric. All of their innovative swimsuit fabrics are made from recycled nylon that’s sourced from fishing nets found in the ocean. We love their classic and effortless designs.

For the Dreamers launched its sustainable swimwear line with the goal to provide clean drinking water to those who need it most. Its collection of swimwear is made from Econyl®, which is regenerated nylon from fishing lines and other waste. We love the brand’s clean lines and variety of cuts.

Sustainable Practices:

  • Hunza G uses a signature crinkle fabric that is made from recycled plastic bottles. The company also uses fine knit Prene and ribbed Nile Fabric in its swimwear.

  • Hunza G's suppliers are OKEO-TEX® certified, which means that they meet high environmental and social standards. The company also works with local, family-run factories in the UK to produce its swimwear.

  • Hunza G's swimwear is shipped in 100% compostable packaging. The company also includes a mesh reusable wash bag with each order, so that customers can wash their swimsuits properly and extend their lifespan.

This brand is so chic! I just bought a suit from them and I absolutely love it. They also are really taking steps to reduce its environmental impact.

  • Anemos's swimwear is shipped in 100% compostable packaging.

  • Anemos's suppliers are OKEO-TEX® certified, which means that they meet high environmental and social standards. The company also works with local, family-run factories in LA to produce its swimwear.

  • Uses eco-friendly materials such as recycled nylon and polyester. These fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets, which helps to reduce pollution in the oceans.
